Created on three trips to Cuba shortly before and after Obama's historic visit and Fidel Castro's passing, CUBANEO is a new traveling exhibition of photo-mosaic murals and audio interviews set to a soundtrack of soulful Cuban music. The most attended show in the 40-year history of APE Gallery, with over 3,000 visitors in 22 days, it opened in Northampton, Mass in June 2017. A portal to Cuba, the mosaics measure up to 15 feet long and are handmade by taping together thousands of 4x6” photographs. Neither a computer nor Photoshop is used. A catalyst for conversations about some of the most salient issues of our time, it travels to Boston's Villa Victoria Center for the Arts from October 6-27, 2017 then to Cienfuegos and Trinidad, Cuba in February 2018.
